What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy is unique in that it uses a holistic approach to look not only at the reasons a client’s participation in activities of daily living have been impacted, but also the client’s roles and environment.
The term ‘occupation’ is used to describe all the everyday things we do in our life roles, but also the things we do to be who we are, the things we do to create a meaningful life and to engage with wider society and culture. An Occupational Therapist can help to identify strengths and difficulties and help work practical solutions, to enable participation. Our Occupational Therapist will gather information, discuss your concerns and work with you to identify your goals. They will then provide you with advice and recommendations, strategies, modifications and / or equipment and together you can plan the pathway to achieving your goals.
We utilise evidence based practices to evaluate each client and find the best occupation-based interventions specific to their needs.
